Ashleigh is a proud Aboriginal woman who works with Indigenous businesses towards cultural, social and economic sustainability. Ashleigh believes that economic development driven by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is important to empowering and developing sustainable futures for all Australians.
Her career embodies her passion for working for her people and her country. She began in tourism showcasing the rich mining history of Central Queensland and turned quickly to mine rehabilitation upon witnessing the devastation of the natural landscape.
From here, Ashleigh pursued her passion for sports tourism and photography in Canada. Once back on Australia shores, she returned to mine rehabilitation and project management.
In 2015, the decision was made to continue her mother’s work in Indigenous Affairs. Ashleigh’s recent projects include accelerators, mentoring women in business and innovating social enterprises across various industries in remote regions.
Panel and webinar experience for Indigenous tourism, women’s empowerment and racism. Currently working remotely as Visit Victoria’s Business Development Manager for Aboriginal Tourism.
