Genevieve Matthews

Genevieve Matthews is dedicated business leadership professional who has worked within and across the tourism industry for her entire career. She’s furled sails and served beers on Bounty the Tallship on Sydney Harbour, sorted logistics for conference delegates touring the Blue Mountains, hosted elegant rainforest dinners for hundreds in TTNQ and travelled the globe many times over selling and training agents on Fraser Island and Southern Queensland. As well as having an extensive knowledge of Australia’s tourism product range from being both a supplier and inbounder, she worked in Germany with the international wholesaler, Australia Tours. Over the years Genevieve has held roles as International Sales Manager, General Manager and formerly Managing Director of Pacific Spirit (until it became part of The AOT Group portfolio) She’s well-versed in and familiar with the day to day trials and tribulations of tourism leadership. Across the last 12 years she’s been working with business owners and leaders, developing emerging talent and teams around Australia. Whilst she has a diverse portfolio of clients from many different industries such as Greensill Farming Group, LendLease, Graincorp, her tourism clients have included the JTB Group/Tour East Australia, Tourism & Events Queensland, ATEC and the Australian Travel Careers Council, Bundaberg Tourism, Life’s an Adventure and Kelly’s Beach Resort to name a few. Highly regarded by clients and business partners alike, Gen is a warm and creative facilitator and leadership specialist. As a speaker, she prefers engaging workshop style sessions to ensure audiences can communicate and contribute whereby delivering learnings and desired outcomes for participants and host/event organisers.
